All IBJR members, which represent approximately 70% of the betting market in Brazil, have already formally submitted their licensing requests, demonstrating full alignment with legal requirements and the firm intention of operating within a duly regulated environment.
In line with these principles and with a focus on promoting safer practices, the operators affiliated with IBJR, in dialogue with the Ministry of Finance, have made the voluntary decision to ban the use of credit cards as a form of payment on their platforms.
It is worth noting that, although this modality represents only about 0.5% of deposits made by customers, the measure aims to mitigate financial risks and strengthen a more responsible and protected experience for users.
IBJR firmly believes that regulation is the most efficient and necessary way to face these challenges, ensuring the protection of consumers and the State. As the main association in the sector, we are eager to contribute with solutions that meet both the concerns of the government and the demands of society.
In this sense, IBJR is formalizing negotiations for meetings with government agencies such as the Ministry of Development, Industry and Commerce, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Development so that we can collaboratively discuss measures to mitigate the possible adverse effects of gaming and betting activity in Brazil, in addition to specific aspects and important data for a better understanding of our market.
Our goal is to ensure that the sector is regulated in a fair and balanced manner, ensuring consumer protection and market integrity, without compromising its development.
