Beatriz Salles Melges, Regional Director Brazil

“BetConstruct’s goal is to become a ‘one stop shop’ for betting in Brazil”

In this exclusive interview during the SBC Summit Lisbon for GMB, Beatriz Salles Melges, Regional Director for BetConstruct in Brazil, shares the company’s strategies to adapt to the new regulatory framework for the gaming sector. She highlights that with the opening of an office in São Paulo, the company wants to become a true “one stop shop” for betting in the country. “We have a SoftConstruct group with more than 10 brands, offering several solutions not only for this industry, but for others as well.”

GMB - What are the new features you bring to the Latin American market, especially for the Brazilian market, which is now regulated?
Beatriz Salles Melges -
We have a lot of new features. We are excited to share our international experience and robustness, but with a fully local operation. We are opening an office in São Paulo, which will be one of our headquarters in Latin America, with a special focus on Brazil, especially at this time when the regulatory framework is in force, allowing us to bring the entire operation here. We are adapting all of our technology, as well as the legal and financial aspects, to serve our partners and customers in Brazil, according to local demands.

Is BetConstruct bringing the certification part as well?
Of course. Our group is already fully certified in other countries and we are carrying out the certifications here as well, offering all the necessary support, as we know that new challenges will arise with all operators.

This is not limited to the regulatory part; we will also have new challenges at the beginning of next year, with market penetration and the actions we can implement. Therefore, our group is capable of offering all B2B solutions to operate in Brazil.

How has the relationship with the operators that already work with the BetConstruct platform been and the search for new partners?
With the current operators, we have increasingly strengthened ties. As good Brazilians, we like to work with Brazilians. That is one of the reasons why we have established our operations here, helping our partners to achieve success. For existing partner operators, we are exploring all possible solutions both inside and outside the organization so that they can continue to operate as needed.

As for new partners, we have seen the emergence of new companies that were previously a bit wary, seeing the iGaming industry as something risky. However, they are realizing that, given the current situation, it is an excellent business opportunity.

What are the plans, beyond opening an office in Brazil, for a market that still has so much room to grow?
If we could summarize, our goal is to become a "one stop shop" for betting in Brazil. Not only the platform, which is well known, but, as I mentioned, we have a SoftConstruct group with more than 10 brands, offering various solutions not only for this industry, but for others as well.

We have plans that I will be able to share in the future, aimed at other industries starting next year.

How has your Fastex project been?
It has been incredible. We have had a good reception in Brazil, especially with other regulations in progress, which allow us to work and penetrate solutions that are not only aimed at the betting and casino environment, but that offer efficient adaptation for our integrated solutions, both for computers and mobile devices. Fastex has shown good flow in the Brazilian market.

Just like Ortak?
Exactly, just like Ortak. We have some solutions that we will soon be able to share in more detail, including new products that we will bring specifically to Brazil next year.

When will we be able to hear about the news?
Probably at the end of the year, with the opening of our office, we will do a second interview to present all the new products to you.
