Last week, the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça temporarily suspended the operation of betting companies licensed by Loterj. The decision left Esportes da Sorte off the list of bets authorized to operate in Brazil. After obtaining the injunction, Grupo Esportes da Sorte released an official statement highlighting that the court decision confirms its compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Official statement from Esportes da Sorte
"Grupo Esportes da Sorte informs that it is authorized to operate nationwide by license 030/2024 from SPA/MF. The decision confirms that the company, from the beginning, complied with all legal and regulatory procedures established by the legislation and its respective ordinances.
The group also emphasizes that the reason for the administrative denial was considered illegal by the federal court and that, in fact, it has already paid the grant fee and its website will soon be transitioning to the new domain www.esportesdasorte.bet.br, in accordance with SPA/MF normative instruction no. 11 for the use of the registration.
In view of this, Grupo Esportes da Sorte reaffirms its commitment to regulating the sector and to responsible gaming, aiming to protect the interests of civil society, generating jobs, income and favoring the economic, social and cultural development of the country."
