The responsibility for implementing the Municipal Lottery of Juiz de Fora is the responsibility of the Finance Department and the public authority is authorized to grant the concession through a bidding process, which will define the model to be adopted.
The law establishes that the sale of bets must comply with the territorial limits of the municipality, and its extrapolation is prohibited, according to the legal document.
The Finance Department must provide effective measures for the implementation of the principles of responsible gambling, especially prevention, gambling addiction and disorders caused by the pathological condition. It must also establish rules for the separation of bets from children and adolescents, as well as rules on advertising.
The resources will be used to fund the municipality's public policies, in addition to the payment of prizes, income tax and lottery operating expenses.
