This was the third event organized by Corinthians' Integrity department. The first was aimed at the club's senior management and the second, at athletes in training. This time, the meeting was aimed at professional athletes.
According to Ricardo Torrado, Corinthians' internal risk and control analyst, meetings like this are essential to ensure integrity, governance and compliance at the club. "These are strategic actions to discuss the importance of best practices in the world of sports." The 2025 Sports Integrity Meeting was attended by all athletes, coaching staff and board of directors of the Corinthians women's professional team.
Luiz Felipe Santoro, president of the Gaming and Betting Law Committee of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Section, spoke about the importance of integrity, with emphasis on combating competition manipulation and sports betting.
According to him, it is essential that athletes are aware of and comply with the legislation and other rules and regulations on integrity and competition manipulation, under penalty of sanctions that go beyond the scope of sports and reach the criminal sphere.
“The preservation of sports integrity, with combating competition manipulation being just one of its aspects, is a fundamental pillar for the sustainability of the sport itself and also underpins the legal and regulated betting market, as it guarantees the uncertainty of the outcome of competitions,” he highlighted.
In addition to sports integrity, the meeting also addressed data protection, doping and racism.
Lawyer Calza Neto, a data protection and cybersecurity specialist at CNK Advogados, applauded the event at Corinthians and said that “education is prevention”.
“This initiative is not just training, but rather a movement of preparation and empowerment. By empowering its athletes with legal and ethical knowledge, Corinthians demonstrates that caring for the future goes far beyond the fields: it means protecting values, building trust and preventing risks that could compromise the sport”, he reinforced.
