Carlos Cardama is featured in the new edition of Brazilian Lounge magazine

The new edition of Brazilian Lounge Magazine will have its ninth edition launched during ICE Barcelona 2025, the largest global event in the sector. In it, the CEO of Games Magazine Brasil, Carlos Cardama, is featured in an interview about the paths to legalizing physical casinos in Brazil. With deep knowledge of the subject, Cardama believes that with the resumption of discussions in the Senate, the PL that legalizes the activity will be approved.

he ninth edition of the magazine will be distributed during ICE Barcelona, with presence at the stands of Brazilian Lounge partners. This is an excellent opportunity for readers to learn about the Brazilian iGaming market.

In this edition, Brazilian Lounge Magazine brings an extensive interview with the CEO of Games Magazine Brasil. Carlos Cardama presents his analysis of the entire period in which the legalization of casinos in the country was discussed and that now the long-awaited moment has arrived.

According to him, “Brazil has made progress and legalized sports betting, a milestone for the country, which has been working towards regulation since 2018 and which is now a reality. With the establishment of large global companies in Brazil, we will become one of the biggest global powers in the segment,” he guarantees.

Regarding the legalization of casinos in Brazil, Cardama stated: “We are one step away from this happening. Although Bill 2,234, which legalizes all gaming verticals in the country, was taken off the Senate agenda for further analysis by some ministries, there is no turning back. After this government assessment, I am sure that the matter will soon return to the agenda and be approved.”

It is worth noting that the government itself is interested in legalization, as the activity will promote investments of around R$100 billion in Brazil and around R$20 billion per year in taxes. Not to mention the direct and indirect gains,” reinforces Cardama. According to him, the main challenge is to overcome a set of rules, which has always been very strong.

Religious people concerned about their flocks believe that society does not have the capacity to choose its entertainment. And they claim, for this reason, that the activity is linked to criminal practices. This is very important, since the main global players are corporations with dedicated shares on stock exchanges around the world and comply with the strictest compliance rules.”

I have no doubt that when legalization is approved, large corporations will come to Brazil and invest in large entertainment complexes, bringing significant benefits to society, in addition to contributing to tourism in the country. Foreigners will not come just to gamble. Whether you are in Brazil for business or pleasure, you can extend your stay to visit one or another casino in the most beautiful places the country has to offer,” he highlights. Remembering that casinos will be just another tool for the tourism industry.

I always like to cite an example. Hard Rock International, which began as a café in England in the 1970s, grew into a large corporation today owned by an American Indian nation, the Seminole. This generated significant benefits for the American tribe,” he recalls.

In addition, Cardama points out in the interview several data on the scope that the legalization of casinos in Brazil brings to the economy and the benefits of an activity ceasing to be a gray market that does not contribute to the country.
