Esportes da Sorte and Onabet get authorization by the SPA to operate in Brazil

The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance published in the Official Gazette this Thursday (23) Ordinance 136, which authorizes Esportes Gaming to operate in Brazil with the brands Esportes da Sorte and Onabet. The SPA has once again updated the list of ‘Bets’ – as the operators are called in Brazil - that can work in the country and now there are 50 companies, owners of 93 different brands.

SPA Ordinance 136 authorizes, under the terms of a court decision, the operation of Esportes Gaming Brasil Ltda in the sports-themed segments and online games jointly in the virtual and physical formats. The brands Esportes da Sorte and Onabet are authorized.

This Wednesday (22), the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance also published two lists of companies authorized to offer sports betting and online games nationwide.

The first contains 45 companies, with a total of 78 betting brands authorized to operate throughout Brazil. The second list is intended for companies that file lawsuits in court seeking the right to also operate in the country. There are 5 companies and 15 brands.

Esportes Gaming Brasil Ltda, owner of the brands Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, are listed by the government to act on this list of companies contemplated with a favorable court decision.

Last week, Esportes da Sorte obtained a court injunction authorizing its definitive operation in Brazil.

The company had been blocked in the regulatory process by the SPA, but now it will be able to operate throughout the country and display its brand on clubs such as Corinthians, Grêmio, Ceará and Náutico. The company has already paid the R$30 million grant.

The websites of both brands are already online:
