A reference in gaming law and gambling regulation, Fabiano Jantalia, founding partner of Jantalia Advogados, highlighted the importance of the event for lawyers and other professionals who wish to work in the sector.
“ICE is the largest event in the world in this industry and attendance is mandatory for any professional who wants to work in this sector. It is through this event that we get to know the innovations, trends, products and services that are being offered, in addition to also having the opportunity to discuss with professionals from other countries the problems they are facing and the solutions they have already developed,” he highlights.
“It is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences and this is especially valuable for lawyers,” adds Jantalia.
For him, lawyers who work in regulated sectors as complex as the gaming and betting industry need to be aware of the news, innovations, challenges and trends in the sector.
“This way, they can offer better solutions for the provision of services and the marketing of bets with legal certainty and, in the case of the betting industry, based on responsible gaming policies,” he argues.
Trends for ‘Bets’ in 2025
Jantalia also highlights two trends in the market of ‘Bets’ – as operators are called in Brazil - for 2025 that were presented during the ICE in Barcelona. One of them is the production of immersive and virtual reality games – developers are looking to improve and make experiences for bettors more sophisticated.
The other consists of so-called sustainable betting. This is not just about the sustainability that is already known, related to the social and environmental agenda. It is a broader concept, involving changes in the relationships between companies and players, so that the market grows in a conscious and ethical way.
