The inclusion of the new Director of Governance and Integrity is a response to the commitment of SIGA and SIGA LATIN AMERICA to strengthen its community of members and partners in Latin America, and to the growing challenges faced by the sports industry, including, among others, in the newly regulated sports betting sector.
By taking this important step, SIGA LATIN AMERICA also demonstrates its commitment to strengthening its services and strengthening its support for the Brazilian government, with whom it signed the first Technical Cooperation Agreement in October 2024, with the Ministry of Finance. Likewise, with the inclusion of this new member, SIGA LATIN AMERICA also ensures that its members have enhanced expertise to face the challenges of this demanding segment.
André Megale's career has been marked by important positions in leading organizations. With a degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC/SP) and an international specialization – the “FIFA Master” – his experience includes positions as legal manager of the Self-Regulatory Entity for Market Supervision of the Brazilian Stock Exchange (BSM), director of compliance at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and relevant roles in legal advisory for major sporting events, such as the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the Copa América.
His professional background demonstrates a deep knowledge of matters related to good governance and integrity in the sports environment.
Commenting on the hiring of André Megale, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA’s co-founder and Global CEO, and SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s President and CEO, welcomed the new members and stated:
“SIGA LATIN AMERICA is determined to do everything in its power to promote integrity in sports in Brazil and throughout Latin America. This hiring is further evidence of this.”
I have known Dr. André Megale for many years and have had the pleasure of working with him in Europe, at the Association of European Professional Football Leagues and the Association of World Leagues, international organizations of which he was CEO for a decade. I know his value, his professional competence and the personal qualities that make him the ideal person to strengthen our team – a team of excellent and brilliant executives – and our commitment to integrity in sports and those who join us in this mission.”
André Megale, SIGA LATIN AMERICA’s new Director of Governance and Integrity, stated:
“I am thrilled to take on the role of Director of Governance and Integrity at SIGA. I would like to thank Dr. Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros and the entire leadership of the organization for the trust they have placed in my work."
"With my experience in the sector, I reinforce my commitment to the ongoing mission of promoting an honest and transparent environment in sports entities and the betting market, strengthening the pillars of integrity, fair play and responsible governance.”
