“Esportes da Sorte will donate R$500,000.00 to finance the Arena. In the next game, FOR EACH GOAL FROM 'TIMÃO', we will donate another R$300,000. May we cheer together in the next match as much as you were here with us today!”, the company announced on social media.
With this donation, 'Vaquinha do Corinthians' (a fundraising campaign) surpassed the R$37 million (US$ 6.5m) mark. The total debt to pay off the Arena is R$700 million (US$ 123m), and the fundraising will continue for another three months.
With a lot of support from the fans, little by little, in partnership with Caixa Econômica Federal, Gaviões da Fiel, the main organized fan group of Alvinegro Paulista, is paying off its bills.
This Sunday (16), Gaviões announced the payment of another R$44,577.66 (US$7,800) paying off the 44th installment. The campaign was launched on November 27th and will end on May 26th.
