The extension complied with the request made by Senator Jorge Kajuru (PSB-GO), chairman of the CPI, who submitted a request to the General Secretariat of the Senate's Board (SGM) requesting an additional 45 days of work.
Kajuru explains that the extension was necessary due to the lack of a minimum quorum of six senators for the meetings that were scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of last week.
The final report of the Committee on Game Manipulation and Sports Betting, which is under the responsibility of Senator Romário (PL-RJ), should have been presented at these meetings.
Installed in April 2024, the CPI aims to investigate allegations and suspicions of match-fixing in Brazilian football, with the possible involvement of players, directors and betting companies.
