First edition after sector’s regulation

IBJR talks about sports integrity and innovation during the SBC Summit 2025

The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR), which represents 75% of the sports betting and online gaming sector in Brazil, is attending the SBC Summit 2025. One of the most important meetings in the segment, it takes place this week in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The event is having its first edition after the regulation of the betting sector and will be attended by the main operators and representatives of the Federal Government and Senate.

The event brings together important representatives of the sector, who will have access to a program of conferences and workshops focused on the main trends, challenges and opportunities of the market after regulation.

Among the names already confirmed are Carolina Yumi, Deputy Secretary of the Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance, and Senator Irajá Abreu.

In its participation, the IBJR will address priority topics for the maturation of the market and for the construction of a safe and sustainable environment, based on the best global practices of responsible gaming.

On the 27th, the CEO of the IBJR, André Gelfi, will explore the fundamental role of technology and innovation in the panel “Tech Talk: Where Innovation Meets Regulation”, in which he will discuss the use of technology for the evolution of the Brazilian market.

Gelfi will present an analysis on how artificial intelligence tools, data and automated systems can strengthen the transparency and security of betting, in addition to contributing to consumer protection and the integrity of sports competitions.

“The adoption of new technologies is not only a regulatory necessity, but a differentiator for operators that act responsibly. At IBJR, we believe that innovation must be continuous, allowing the sector to evolve in a sustainable manner," explains André Gelfi.

"The development of tools such as facial recognition and monitoring systems are examples of how the sector can anticipate risks and offer a safe environment," adds the executive.

IBJR

The Brazilian Institute for Responsible Gaming (IBJR) was founded in March 2023 and brings together global companies that represent 75% of the legal sports betting market in Brazil and are part of groups operating in major international markets, such as the United States, England and Australia.

The IBJR's purpose is to promote a sustainable and responsible online betting ecosystem, with benefits for the entire society.

For this reason, it contributes to the construction of a safe environment for companies and bettors, collaborating with the public sector and sharing solutions focused on technology and innovation, many of which are already applied in mature markets around the world.
