"It is being negotiated. Blaze has already stated that it is not interested in renewing. There was an agreement that Blaze will continue with the investments it is making, but we will possibly make the change. The marketing and financial departments are working towards this renewal," stated Marcelo Teixeira.
The agreement with Blaze was signed in 2023 and earned the club R$45 (US$ 7.8m) million in the first year. In the renewal, the value was increased to R$55.5 million (US$ 9.6m), but Santos wants more, especially now that it has player Neymar on the roster, which gives the club greater visibility.
The door to an agreement is closer as Neymar has been hired as an ambassador for Viva Sorte, which makes negotiations a little simpler, despite the star's short-term contract with the company (until June 2025).
Viva Sorte paid R$20 million (US$ 3.5m) to 'Peixe' and has already expressed interest in occupying the most prestigious part of the uniform. Viva Sorte has already paid another R$20 million to the player to have him as an ambassador for the company's capitalization bond.
Blaze also has the Santos star as a brand ambassador, but is not willing to pay more than the R$55 million (US$ 9.6m) it currently pays the club. That is why the club's president stated that the betting house will continue to invest in Peixe, but not necessarily in the front of the shirt, but rather in other properties.
Regarding Viva Sorte, the president of Santos neither confirmed nor denied: “Viva Sorte is part of a work and a project. It could be (it is her), but we could have another type of partnership for the shirt,” said Teixeira.
