Material aims to promote a safer market

AMIG launches new booklet on Responsible Gaming during SBC Rio 2025

During SBC Rio 2025, one of the most important events in the iGaming sector in Latin America, the Gaming Industry Women's Association (AMIG) celebrated its first year of operation with a happy hour and the launch of an exclusive booklet on Responsible Gaming. The educational material aims to strengthen and promote a safer and more sustainable market.

The booklet is available for free download at: https://cartilhajogoresponsavel.amig.bet/

The material was developed with the collaboration of AMIG's specialist associates and aims to strengthen the culture of responsible gaming, encourage integrity and ensure the well-being of players.

For Ana Bárbara Costa Teixeira, co-founder of the association, the initiative reinforces AMIG's mission to contribute to a regulated and safe market: “The booklet aligns with AMIG's main mission to contribute to the construction of a regulated betting market that is responsible, fair and inclusive. Only by fostering a culture of responsible gaming will we truly have a fair and sustainable industry in the long term.”

An accessible tool for the sector and society

The development of the material was designed to ensure that anyone, regardless of their level of knowledge about betting, can understand the principles of responsible gaming. Victoria Cerioni, member of the AMIG Legal Committee, explains: “Our main goal was to ensure that anyone could understand what it means to bet responsibly. With this in mind, our main strategies were: simple language, lots of examples and visual resources.”

The booklet is aimed at bettors, operators, regulators and society in general, highlighting the importance of a market that prioritizes consumer safety and the sustainability of the industry. “Our intention has always been to reach as many people as possible. We understand that dialogue with bettors, government officials, betting house operators and citizens in general is healthy. Only through clear and transparent dialogue can we achieve the common good,” reinforces Laura Morganti, member of the AMIG Legal Committee.

Development of the guide and expected impact

AMIG hopes that the guide will serve as a reference in the sector, influencing the implementation of public policies and good business practices. Fernanda Batistella, secretary of the Seal Committee, believes that the document is a starting point: “We hope that the guide will be a starting point to strengthen the culture of responsible gaming, where the commitment to the integrity and well-being of players is not only a regulatory requirement, but a competitive advantage. We believe in everyone's collaboration to transform these guidelines into practical and sustainable actions.”

The development process involved extensive research and review to ensure up-to-date and reliable content. Isabela Fernandes, a member of the Services and Communications Committees, highlights the challenges faced: “The newness of the topic in Brazil required extra care in curating and validating the information. We needed to carefully choose which information to include in the booklet to ensure that it would be useful both for people who have been gambling for a long time and are familiar with protection tools, as well as for those who are unfamiliar with the subject. Furthermore, since it is a recent topic in the country, there is a lot of misinformation to be combated, which made it essential to validate the information and select appropriate sources, ensuring that the content was accurate and reliable.”

The booklet also addresses the relationship between gambling and mental health, providing recommendations on how family and friends can help gamblers maintain a healthy relationship with gambling.

Irati Santos, a member of the Support Committee, emphasizes: “The booklet will help family and friends promote responsible gambling, teaching them how to identify warning signs, encourage healthy habits and offer appropriate support. With guidelines for constructive dialogues and access to help resources, it allows you to prevent warning signs and ensure a safe, balanced and conscious environment for players.”

For Andrea Ueda, an AMIG member, “the expectation is that society will use the booklet as an informative and guiding guide to look at and understand the fixed-odds betting market and its externalities on the consumer, with each person being an agent for disseminating correct information, helping to mature the sector in a healthy way.”

In addition, Natalia Nogues, co-founder of AMIG, comments on the scope of the booklet: “Initially, the booklet was developed with a focus on the Brazilian public, considering the regulatory moment in the country. However, we know that the principles of responsible gaming are universal. We are open to taking this discussion to international events and adapting the content for different markets in the future.”

Next steps for the project

The next steps include disseminating the material in various formats, including educational videos, professional training and partnerships with operators to expand the guidelines for responsible gaming. Luizeanne Favero, Supervisor of the Contractual Subcommittee, reinforces the continuity of this movement: “Responsible gaming demands collective awareness and each initiative strengthens this movement. The next actions include publicity campaigns, professional training to ensure effective communication and legal compliance of all products or services offered on the market and adherence to public policies, ensuring legal security in operations that reinforce the entertainment nature of the sector.”

Official launch at SBC Rio 2025

The launch of the booklet coincides with AMIG's anniversary, which reinforces the association's commitment to the cause. Natalia Nogues highlights this connection: “AMIG's anniversary represents a milestone in our trajectory, and we believe there is no better way to celebrate than by launching a material that reinforces one of our pillars: education. The booklet symbolizes our commitment to a more responsible and transparent sector, consolidating our role as an active agent in this transformation.”

The booklet was launched during AMIG's Happy Hour at SBC Rio 2025, this Wednesday (26), at stand A05 | Pay4Fun and was a special moment to celebrate the association's first year. With this initiative, AMIG reinforces its role as a promoter of a more responsible, safe and well-being-oriented sector.
