“Oddsgate aligns its operations with Brazil’s regulations, aims to expand in LatAm from the country”

Oddsgate is focused on aligning its platform with regulations in Brazil, supporting clients with performance, security and operational consulting. After initial challenges, Marketing Director Wagner Fernandes, in an exclusive interview with GMB, said that the market has adapted well to regulatory requirements and that the company’s next step is to expand in LatAm, perhaps using Brazil as a base for operations throughout the region.

GMB - What's new at Oddsgate at SBC Rio?
Wagner Fernandes
- Here in Rio, our main intention and focus is to ensure that the entire process and our platform are in line with regulations. This is our focus at the moment, because it is also our partners'. We already have seven regulated clients in Brazil, which is a great demand and a great responsibility on our part. We are conducting this regulatory process hand in hand with them. It is not easy, it is demanding, but we are already seeing good results.

After a slowdown, which was natural in January, we are already seeing that operations are returning to normal. The market and players are adapting to the regulator's requirements, whether in the acquisition, registration or communication process. I believe that everyone is adapting well, and we are very satisfied with this process.

In addition to meeting 100% of the regulations, have you also managed to meet 100% of the needs and satisfaction of customers?
As I said, at this moment, our clients and the market in general are very focused on this regulatory process. Behind the scenes, we are continuously working on projects and new features for our platform, with new additions to our technology. But now, we want our clients to be sure that the platform is compliant with the regulator, without losing our main characteristics: performance, integrity and security, which have always been hallmarks of our technology.

In addition, we seek to go beyond technology, offering knowledge to our clients from the beginning of the operation to its continuity. We are by our clients' side in terms of consulting and operational services, so that they have a healthy and long-lasting operation.

Oddsgate has a study that addresses trends for 2050, something you presented at SBC Rio. What can we expect for 2050?
This was a very interesting process. We made the first public approach here at SBC Rio, but it all started at SBC Lisboa, months ago, in August, during the planning of this major project. There, we conducted more than 200 surveys and continued this work. Now, we present the first ideas and invite the public to learn about our study, which will be officially launched in March.

More than providing answers, we want people to question themselves and imagine for themselves what the future will be like. We have clues, we studied 21 variables and addressed topics such as blockchain, interaction with devices, 7G networks and much more. It is important to discuss the future and prepare for it.

Let's go back to the present. What are Oddsgate's plans for the medium term?
Here in Brazil, we are focused on consolidating the market and strengthening our share, which is already quite significant. We have major industry players as clients and we want to expand to other geographies, especially in Latin America. This is a process that we are taking step by step, communicating as we consolidate our operations. This year will be one of growth for our platform, as well as for the company itself.

Will Brazil be the base for this expansion in Latin America?
It is a possibility. We are considering opening an office in Brazil to better serve our Brazilian partners. Brazil, given its reality, could be the base for us to look at all of Latin America, as it is one of the most important markets in the region.
