GMB – How was SBC Summit Rio 2025, the first event in Brazil after the regulation?
Arthur Henrique - This event was highly anticipated by the iGaming community in Brazil. It is our first time as Cometa Game participating as an exhibitor at SBC, so it has been a very positive experience. This shows the development of the brand over the last few years, especially now, with the regulated market.
The event was excellent, we were able to prospect a lot, talk to our customers and strengthen relationships. There were many new things happening at the fair. I highly recommend it.
Did Cometa Gaming present any innovations or new products?
Yes! Our platform is 100% focused on Brazil, a Brazilian product made by Brazilians and with a lot of love. We are investing heavily in customer service, because we want to be close, understand the needs of the market and really embrace our customers' projects.
We feel that this is missing in Brazil, where the culture is very warm and people like to be close. This is a big difference that we are bringing to 2025.
How is Cometa Gaming adapting to the new regulations in the Brazilian market?
For us, it was a somewhat rushed process, because the changes happened very quickly last year. We had to adapt quickly, but we chose to operate only in the regulated market and focused on Brazil. This meant losing some customers, but we gained much more in terms of security and credibility.
Furthermore, players also benefit, as they will have safer platforms, with guaranteed fairness and responsible entertainment. Ultimately, the impact is very positive.
How does Cometa Gaming stand out in this highly competitive market? Which products would you highlight?
Our biggest differentiator is our total focus on the Brazilian market. We came from the digital market and brought this know-how to iGaming, especially in player acquisition and retention. Our personalized service is another strong point, as we want our customers to feel that they are part of a solid and well-structured ecosystem.
What are the biggest opportunities you see in the market now?
With regulation, the environment is much safer for investors. Government support provides stability and confidence for those who want to open operations in Brazil.
In addition, since there are fewer houses operating, the volume of players has increased significantly for regulated platforms. Brazil is experiencing a true “gold rush” in iGaming, and the trend is for this to continue evolving with even more innovation and security.
With this regulation, most platforms have benefited. How do you see the future of iGaming and sports betting in Brazil?
In recent years, the market has been very focused on player acquisition, with aggressive strategies to attract new users. But I believe that by 2025 the scenario will change.
Houses will need to invest more in retention, creating tools that encourage player loyalty, instead of seeing them constantly migrate between platforms. Those who manage to work well on this aspect will be on the path to success.
Do you think competition in the sector will increase or will it become more difficult for new companies?
The trend is that it will become more difficult to enter the market, as the operators that arrived first will have competitive advantages.
However, Brazil has a very strong entrepreneurial spirit, and I believe that there will always be room for new ideas and innovative solutions that can revolutionize the sector. There are still opportunities for those who are entering now.
Will the company be present at the next major events, such as BiS SiGMA Americas in April?
Of course, we hope to see you all at the next event!
