Levante announces Felipe Maximino as new country manager in Brazil

Levante Brasil Ltda, an operator with definitive authorization from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), announced that Felipe Maximino will take on the role of country manager in Brazil. The company brings together the experience of Sorte Online, a pioneer in the local lottery intermediation market – which includes Sorte Online Betz – and Lottoland, a global leader in lotteries and online games.

Focusing on innovation, strengthening Levante’s commitment to Responsible Gaming, and enhancing the player experience, Felipe takes on the role with the goal of driving the company’s operational growth and strengthening its brands in the Brazilian market.

Maximino has been with Sorte Online for nearly four years, previously serving as VP of Product, Technology, and Operations. During this time, he played a key role in the technological modernization of the platform, always aiming to provide an increasingly intuitive and efficient experience for customers.

"Taking on this position is both a challenge and a great opportunity to continue driving Levante’s growth in Brazil. Our goal is to keep expanding while placing even greater focus on customer experience, bringing innovative solutions that simplify the consumer journey and enhance access to high-quality services," highlights Felipe Maximino.

He holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he conducted research on web system accessibility and ubiquitous computing. He also holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

In his career, before serving as VP of Product, Technology, and Operations at Sorte Online, he held positions as Director of Product and Technology, CTO, and Head of Product at the company. Additionally, Felipe worked at multinational corporations leading digital transformation efforts, such as the French company Atos and the Indian firm TCS, gaining experience in business development.

Maximino’s appointment follows the departure of Marcio Malta, who steps down as CEO of Sorte Online after five years with the company. During this period, Marcio played a key role in the company’s growth. Now, Felipe Maximino takes over with the mission of intensifying innovation and elevating the customer experience to new heights.

"Our commitment is to integrate the best global practices with local expertise to remain one of the leading references in the Brazilian betting and lottery market. With my industry experience, I aim to anticipate trends and develop solutions that meet our customers' real needs. I also take this opportunity to thank Marcio Malta for his leadership and significant achievements during his tenure, wishing him much success in his new journey," he concludes.

Levante Brasil Ltda is an operator authorized under SPA/MF Ordinance No. 259/25 in the national betting market. Sorte Online and Lottoland are two of the three authorized brands that, under regulation, can operate under Levante’s management.

Founded in 2003, Sorte Online stands out in the digital lottery gaming intermediation market, having distributed approximately R$ 250 million (US$43m) in prizes to players across the country. With a pioneering spirit and significant investments in technology, Sorte Online offers a comprehensive platform with digital solutions that provide greater convenience and security for players to place their bets on the desired lottery and access syndicate shares.

Its key market differentiator is the use of data intelligence and statistics applied to the platform, exponentially increasing the chances of winning. On its online platform, users can also access tips, news, statistics, probabilities, and real-time lottery results.

Sorte Online Betz is a platform that offers casino games, sports betting, and instant games in a digital environment. The brand is part of Levante Brasil Ltda, a holding company in the national betting market.

Sorte Betz is another platform that provides casino games, sports betting, and instant games in a digital setting. This brand is also part of Levante Brasil Ltda.

Lottoland has rapidly grown to become a global leader in online lotteries. Innovation, combined with the freedom to offer players a unique and enhanced lottery experience, has been crucial to the company's success. In June 2018, Lottoland paid out €90 million to a lucky winner in Germany—this prize was confirmed by Guinness World Records as the largest online gambling payout ever recorded.

Headquartered in Gibraltar, the company operates in 15 markets, employs over 400 people, and has more than 20 million customers worldwide. Lottoland is licensed and regulated by the Government of Gibraltar, the UK Gambling Commission, the National Excise Office of the Republic of Ireland, the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli in Italy, the Northern Territory Racing Commission in Australia, the Swedish Gaming Authority, the Malta Gaming Authority, and the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
