“SGA has overcome regulation difficulties and is ready to offer cutting-edge solutions in Brazil”

In an exclusive interview with GMB, Raphael Oliveira, commercial director of platform provider SGA, praised the growth of SBC Summit Rio, reinforcing the rise of the sector. He revealed that the company faced challenges in adapting its solution to regulation, but now offers safe and transparent tools, serving operators and users. More innovations, such as differentiated games and new integrations, will be presented at BiS SiGMA in April.


GMB - How do you assess the SBC Summit Rio?
Raphael Oliveira - The event is much bigger. Those who were here last year, even being very optimistic, would not have imagined that the structure would be this large. This only reinforces the perception that the industry is experiencing tremendous growth. Those who had doubts about regulation or some concerns about the continuity of investments in the sector now have their answer. When we see an event that started small reach this magnitude, we get the feeling that the industry continues to expand.

You mentioned regulation. How was the final adaptation phase for SGA to ensure its platform fully complies with the requirements of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting?
There were many challenges. We had already been working on this for approximately two years. Initially, there were speculations about what would be required. Then, as the regulations unfolded, the process became even more challenging due to tight deadlines. But today, what we can see is that we now have a player with a name, a photo, and the certainty that the platform prioritizes their integrity, operational security, and betting security.

This further maximizes the influx of players and an audience that, if they were unfamiliar with the iGaming world before, now have a consolidated and regulated reference. Obviously, when business rules are well-defined, it becomes easier to attract investments, gain visibility, and keep the business running smoothly. I believe the player feels safer, the target audience feels safer, and, most importantly, the operator feels confident to make strategic investments in customer retention and brand visibility. With clear rules, the entire process and user journey within the industry become more seamless.

As a platform provider, what does SGA offer operators to ensure safe gaming for bettors?
All the tools required by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting to validate operations in the national market are being implemented. We have responsible gaming tools that are highly visible and easily accessible in our system. We also work on player security, identification, and transactional transparency, which helps build user trust.

 



How have operators responded to the features you developed to meet their needs and the requirements of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting?
The KYC (Know Your Customer) tools, in particular, have been a game-changer. They have helped filter players more effectively. In the past, operators invested in digital marketing and paid traffic campaigns but struggled to reach the right audience.

Now, with these tools, both the platform and the player have a clearer understanding of each other. This has made operations more flexible, allowing for more aggressive strategies while giving players greater security on a betting platform. As a result, operators can outline new investment strategies to create a more robust environment for bettors.

What new developments can we expect from SGA in the coming months in Brazil’s regulated market?
We are working hard on new integrations with partners to introduce innovative casino mechanics and unique games, as well as international trends such as new sports betting markets. With the regulated market, we will have more certified games and will be able to offer them as soon as possible. Expect exciting news in the first half of the year.

Will these new developments be presented at BiS SiGMA in April?
Absolutely. We will be there with a brand-new product, backed by regulation, ready to be showcased. We are very proud and confident that the audience will approve.
