GMB - What new features did Sportingtech present at SBC Rio?
Marina Selmi - Our main innovation is a product better suited to Brazil’s regulated market. We understood the operator's need regarding integration time. We continue with our traditional product, the Turnkey Solution, and now we have a faster, more agile version that complies with regulations. In other words, we aim to serve operators who require this agility.
And how have operators responded to what you delivered?
It's going very well! Sportingtech is very well-positioned in Brazil. Today, most of our operators already have their federal licenses, and those who don’t are in the process of obtaining them. There is also a high demand from new operators entering the market, as well as those who need quick integration. Thank God, it's going great!
The regulated market has been operating for only two months. What do you expect in the coming months regarding stabilization and attracting new clients to Sportingtech?
I believe the market is going through a natural filtering process, as happens in any regulated market. There are still some operations in the black market, but increasingly, only serious operators and the largest betting companies are remaining. This opens space for committed companies that align with regulations, which consequently creates opportunities for Sportingtech to support them with our solution and help them grow.
As a platform provider, how can Sportingtech assist operators in responsible gaming programs and anti-money laundering efforts?
We have several partners at Sportingtech, including KYC (Know Your Customer) companies and payment solutions that take responsible gaming and fraud prevention very seriously. One thing I like to emphasize to our clients is that we are not just a platform - we want to be a partner. We offer various tools, both from partners and our own, to assist in this regard.
What are Sportingtech’s plans for the coming months in this new regulated landscape?
Over the past year, Sportingtech's focus has been on Brazil and the regulated market. Now that this is a reality, we are beginning to expand further into Latin America. We are already monitoring and seeing opportunities growing in Peru, Chile, and Mexico. Of course, we continue to invest heavily in Brazil, but we are also broadening our reach to other countries in the region.
Does this mean the Brazilian unit is growing and that you will take on the leadership of business in Latin America?
Exactly! We are expanding significantly and bringing new people onto the team. We now have employees in Mexico, Peru, and Chile to ensure localized and strategic growth in these countries.
Will we see you at BiS SiGMA 2025 in April in São Paulo?
Absolutely! I'm from São Paulo, so there's no way I wouldn't be there! We will be sponsoring events and parties, and Sportingtech will have a large team present. See you there!
