40% of Brazilians approve advertising of ‘Bets’ in sports, survey shows

A survey by Agência Virta, in partnership with Instituto QualiBest, revealed that 40% of Brazilians see advertising by betting houses in sports events and sponsorship of football teams as positive. For 30% of those interviewed, these actions have neither a positive nor a negative impact, while 20% consider them to be harmful to sports. 40% said they had already bet.

The study analyzed the behavior of these bettors and showed that the possibility of financial gain is the main motivation for betting (72%), followed by entertainment (42%) and the desire to test sports knowledge (29%).

The most frequently mentioned platforms by players are: Betano (61%), bet365 (51%), Betnacional (48%), Esporte da Sorte (42%), and Vai de Bet (40%). Among frequent players, the most used platforms are Betano (40%), bet365 (33%), and Esporte da Sorte (21%).

Regarding sources of betting information, 55% of participants seek content on social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok, while 35% rely on friends, 31% are influenced by online advertisements, and 24% get information from radio and TV.

Clarity of information (58%) and platform reputation (50%) are the most important factors when choosing a betting company.

Another point raised by the study was public perception regarding the presence of child influencers in betting site advertisements.

More than half of respondents (51%) said they were uncomfortable with this type of action, while 21% reported mild discomfort, and 16% considered it normal.

User security was also a key aspect of the analysis. 59% of respondents highlighted the protection of personal and financial data as essential, while 48% mentioned the need for licensing by a reliable regulatory body and anti-fraud systems.

Speed of payments and withdrawals (38%) and operations regulated in Brazil (31%) are decisive criteria for players when choosing a platform.
