GMB - What is your impression of the size and organization of the SBC Summit Rio?
Fernando Garita - It is a pleasure to be here again. This is the first fair after the regulation, and its size is perfect for visiting, meeting and being present. Everything was very positive.
What innovations did Betsul bring? What new things did it present?
This time we did not have a physical stand, but we always have the support of our providers, such as Vibra Gaming, and we share the space a little for meetings, etc.
I think that like all operators, we are trying to get back to what happened in December and get things moving, but we are working hard to resume 100% of the entire operation. And also to prepare for whatever comes.
What is the news regarding Betsul's new influencers and campaigns for its audience?
We are implementing more initiatives in the educational and preventive areas, focusing on responsible gaming. We have ambassadors and psychologists working on educational videos for people.
I recently participated in lectures for the industry, including an event in João Pessoa aimed at entrepreneurs (not in the gaming industry) from various sectors, such as technology, the medical industry, tourism and hotels, and other branches. They found it all very interesting. The lectures focused on publicizing the parallel benefits that gaming can bring.
This is the first time we are trying it. And it was very, very positive. They are entrepreneurs in technology, the medical industry, and other areas, such as tourism, hotels, and others. And I believe they found it all very interesting. The lectures focused on publicizing all the parallel benefits that gaming brings.
Are education, awareness and prevention Betsul's goals today in the regulated market?
Exactly, and we are also working internally to provide the correct, adaptive training, for example, in marketing and other areas. We have carried out campaigns, general training for all operators in the marketing, customer service, legal and sports areas.
With so many companies entering the market, how does Betsul differentiate itself and which products and services would you highlight to stand out from the competition?
We have worked hard on regionalization, not focusing only on a specific region, but on the entire country. We have an advantage compared to other foreign companies that come to compete with high-quality products and many years of experience.
The market adjustment will happen, and we are all hoping that the blocking of illegal websites will actually be effective and not just remain on paper, but that we will take action.
What opportunities do you see in Brazil from now on, now that it is regulated?
As I said, if illegal sites are blocked, we are prepared to serve a larger number of customers, while maintaining our focus on quality and service.
With the announcement that 12,000 illegal sites will be closed, mathematically, these customers should seek out the more than 100 companies that are legal.
Can you tell us about your experience in the panels you participated in at SBC Summit Rio?
It was very interesting. I worked for many years in the area of ??responsible gaming and integrity. I talked about how to create an integrity program for companies, which is very important. In fact, we were pioneers with IBIA in bringing integrity to LatAm.
Integrity refers not only to anti-match-fixing, but also to issues such as anti-money laundering and KYC. We shared some suggestions for participants and companies to move forward and create their own comprehensive integrity programs.
How do you see the future of iGaming and sports betting in Brazil?
We will see growth in sports betting, with the average ticket size increasing. This indicates that customers are more confident in sites that offer support and security.
Regulation, as long as taxes are fair and balanced, and with the government's support to deliver on what was promised, will allow legitimate businesses to thrive. We and the 100 companies have done our part and now it is the government's turn to do its part.
Is Betsul prepared for the next event in São Paulo, BiS SiGMA Americas?
Yes, it is always a pleasure to be in São Paulo. We will be at home, since I live there now, of course. São Paulo offers many business opportunities and competition. It will be very interesting.
But I reiterate that the size of this event here in Rio, combined with the quality of the suppliers and other participants, is perfect. I am always grateful to the media and journalism, which are essential for publicizing the event and allowing us to share with the market what is happening.
