GMB - What were the main highlights of Control F5 at SBC RIO 2025?
Natalia Nogues - This latest edition of SBC Rio was very special, especially because it was the first edition of the event after the regulation of iGaming in Brazil. It was a moment of celebration, but also of new horizons for the company’s new phase. During the fair, the audience had the chance to get a sneak peek of the “new Control F5” – a reflection of our evolution to meet the new demands and opportunities of the regulated market.
The current market context allowed us to present a revamped portfolio, with solutions even more aligned with the new requirements of the sector. Our major highlight was the restructuring of our solutions, now organized into six strategic pillars: Marketing, Human Resources, Customer Service, Training for the sector, Market and Business Consulting, each designed for different client profiles, from those entering Brazil to those seeking scalability and consolidation in the country.
How did Control F5 adapt to the changes brought by the regulation of iGaming in Brazil, and how has this helped its partners continue operating according to the new rules?
The regulation of iGaming in Brazil represented a turning point for the market and for Control F5. We have built a long and consistent trajectory in the industry and have always believed in the sector’s potential. For that reason, we prepared for this transition long before it happened, even amidst uncertainties and challenges we faced along the way.
When the regulation was finally implemented, we saw it as a turning point, but without losing sight of our mission to innovate and connect the entire market. Therefore, our market experience and future vision allowed us to develop specific solutions to assist both the entry of new brands into the market and the adaptation of already established operators. The result is a more secure, robust ecosystem ready for the sustainable growth of companies.
In such a competitive region like Brazil, with so many operators fighting for their space, what can Control F5 offer to make current clients’ eyes sparkle and attract new partners?
Competition in the Brazilian market isn’t limited to operators; it also extends to companies like Control F5, which need to stand out in an increasingly dynamic and demanding environment. However, this is exactly where our experience of over 20 years in the market becomes our main differentiator. This experience has allowed us to understand the nuances of the sector, anticipate trends, predict risks, and offer solutions that truly make a difference.
Our consultative approach is one of the pillars that sets us apart, as we act as strategic partners, guiding our clients toward promising paths. For current clients, this means continuous and personalized support, focusing on optimizing operations, adapting to regulatory changes, and exploring new growth opportunities.
For new players, we offer a comprehensive ecosystem of solutions that makes entry and localization in the Brazilian market easier. Thus, Control F5 positions itself as a partner that understands the present but also helps shape the future.
One of the regulation requirements involves sensitive issues such as responsible gaming, advertising, and user protection. Has it been easy to navigate this theme and properly guide your partners?
Responsible gaming and its advertising are central issues in the regulation and have always been part of Control F5’s DNA. We know that navigating this theme requires technical knowledge but also sensitivity to balance user protection with a fun gaming experience. The regulation has brought clarity and a more defined horizon.
From that, we have refined our guidelines and helped our partners adopt responsible practices in communication, monitoring, and player support. We have enhanced our training for operators and their teams, ensuring their actions are effective without violating the established norms and ensuring the well-being of society, while also educating it. This is the time to nurture consumers with the best practices while demystifying the ingrained misconceptions about our industry.
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges in Brazil for Control F5? What is your vision for the future of iGaming and sports betting in the country in the coming years?
Brazil is undoubtedly one of the most promising markets for iGaming in the world. The economic potential and the population’s engagement with this segment create immense opportunities for Control F5. However, as in any growing and adapting market, challenges are inevitable, and it is precisely in balancing opportunities and obstacles that we have built our strategy.
On the opportunities side, what we have seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg. The regulation has opened doors to a safer, more transparent, and attractive market for global investors. And we are ready to embrace this future.
On the other hand, the challenges are significant. The illegal market, especially offshore sites, still poses a threat to the industry. This is a problem that affects the entire iGaming ecosystem in Brazil. I believe this is something transitional and temporary, and for that reason, we have been working actively on this front, offering solutions that guarantee security, transparency, and compliance for our partners. Additionally, we are engaged in supporting initiatives that aim to curb irregular practices, together with regulatory bodies and sector entities.
Our vision for the future of iGaming in Brazil is of a consolidated, mature, and finally respected market. We believe that in the coming years, we will see global brands strengthening their operations in the country, investments in technology and innovation, and an increasingly immersive experience for the Brazilian player. Furthermore, we don’t rule out the possibility of seeing Brazil become an entertainment hub with the eventual regulation of physical casinos, following the example of established markets such as Las Vegas.
