By creating an effective protocol capable of acting directly with the necessary actions required by Ordinance No. 1,231/2024 - Responsible Gaming -, developed by the Prizes and Betting Department of the Ministry of Finance, EBAC received the nomination for ‘Best Responsible Gaming Initiative’.
Among the tasks are assisting in the reception of compulsive gamblers, something mandatory, in addition to reviewing the compliance of partner companies.
“All the controls that betting platforms need to implement, all adherence to the ordinance, implementation of questionnaires, self-assessment, methodology for classifying the gambler's risk, whether the degree of compulsiveness is high or low, we offer all of this when they hire us,” explains Ricardo Magri, executive director of EBAC.
The creation of the Compulsafe Seal, a psychoeducation program designed to work with gamblers who are detected with critical levels of compulsiveness or assessed as being within a risk group for developing gambling addiction, also guaranteed the company a nomination in the ‘Best Action to Combat Gambling Addiction’ category.
“The gambler starts with psychological support procedures until screening and referral to participate in a psychoeducational program lasting up to eight weeks. Both in the immediate care and in the psychoeducational program, the gambler will have access to technical information and quality group experiences to deal with gambling disorders,” says Cristiano Costa, psychologist and director of knowledge at EBAC.
Well-known ‘Bet’ brands – as operators are called in Brazil - such as the NSX Group (Betnacional and Mr. Jack.bet), Grupo Esportes da Sorte (Esportes da Sorte and Onabet), Grupo Ana Gaming (7K, Cassino and Vera), as well as Casa de Apostas, Betsul, Alfa and Multibet were some of the companies that joined the program.
Finally, EBAC, founded in 2022, will also compete in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category, an award for companies that helped promote and revolutionize the market with their actions in the last year.
