The action is part of a set of recurring measures promoted by EstrelaBet with its sponsored teams, reinforcing the company’s commitment to preventing match-fixing and ensuring integrity in sports.
Sportradar, operating globally in more than 80 countries, conducted the training with a focus on educating athletes about the risks of match-fixing, the methods used by fraudsters, and the legal and sporting consequences involved.
“This initiative reinforces our commitment to integrity in sports. Addressing topics such as match-fixing with teams is essential to protecting all athletes, clubs, championships, and the betting market itself. Clear and objective information is one of the key tools to ensure a safe and transparent sporting environment,” says Frederico Gabrich, Chief Legal Officer (CLO) of EstrelaBet.
During the workshop, topics covered included what match-fixing is and how it occurs, different types of fraud, approaches used by fixers, the risks of involvement with illegal betting, and how professionals should act when faced with suspicious proposals. The content was presented dynamically, with opportunities for interaction and clarification of doubts.
“For Criciúma, it is crucial that our athletes and coaching staff are prepared to recognize risk situations and know how to act in the face of any attempt at manipulation. We highly value this initiative and thank EstrelaBet and Sportradar for bringing such relevant content to our reality,” highlights Carlos Fernandes, Executive Director of Criciúma Esporte Clube.
“It was very rewarding to see the interest of Criciúma’s athletes during the presentation. Education and awareness are fundamental to protecting sports and combating practices such as match-fixing, which cause harm to all involved,” says Felippe Marchetti, Integrity Partnerships Manager at Sportradar in Brazil.
The workshop was held this Wednesday (26) at the club’s headquarters in Criciúma (SC). The initiative is part of EstrelaBet’s structured policy for sports integrity, aligned with current regulations and global best practices.
The company has an internal department dedicated to compliance and integrity, with robust controls and the use of advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, to monitor and identify suspicious activities related to match-fixing.
Additionally, EstrelaBet is a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), Genius Sports, and Sportradar’s Integrity Exchange to collaborate with global monitoring and alert systems.
