“We need urgent measures to reverse this situation. We have warned the authorities that minors' access to betting houses and online games, a practice prohibited by law, has occurred through illegal betting,” stated ANJL president Plínio Lemos Jorge.
“Without security devices, these platforms make it easier for children and teenagers to enter these virtual environments and encourage them to gamble. As representatives of the regulated market, we are committed to collaborating with the competent agencies to adopt initiatives that combat this extremely worrying scenario.”
He also points out that on sites that operate with federal government authorization, bettors, in addition to being over 18, must register with their CPF number and facial recognition to ensure that they are being used by an adult.
“We have two main problems: illegal sites, which not only allow minors to enter but also facilitate them, and the negligence of parents and guardians, who use their data to allow children and teenagers to access online betting sites.”
“In both situations, we are talking about serious crimes. The data from the Ministry of Justice reinforces what we are warning about. Illegal sites are allowing minors to access fixed-odds games,” concluded the president of ANJL.
