The new list of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting was released last Friday (28) and included BPX Bets Sports Group Ltda, which owns the brands Vaidebet, Obabet and Betpix365 due to a court order.
SPA complied with the order of federal judge Pablo Zuniga Dourado, of the 1st Region Federal Regional Court, who granted an injunction determining the inclusion of the three ‘Bets’ authorized to operate nationally.
In his ruling, Zuniga granted the request, ordering SPA to include the three La Nista brands as operators authorized to operate, “setting a daily fine of R$10,000, starting from the date of notification of this decision, without prejudice to the adoption of other applicable coercive measures, including communication to the Public Prosecutor's Office for investigation of possible practice of the crime of disobedience, according to article 330 of the Penal Code, in case of continued omission.”
Currently, there are 49 definitive and 21 provisional authorizations for companies to operate in the regulated sports betting and online gaming market in Brazil. In addition, by court order, another 16 brands were also included in the lists of the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets. In total, there are 175 betting sites operating in accordance with the sector's regulatory process.
