Monara Shainny, Segurobet CEO, talked to GMB at SBC Summit Rio 2025 about the challenges and opportunities of the regulated market. With an optimistic outlook for the future of the sector, she highlighted the importance of player education: 'It is essential that operators guide users in the growing Brazilian market.' GMB – What were the main innovations that Segurobet presented at the SBC Summit Rio 2025?

- Our main objective at this event was to implement new strategies and establish partnerships to continue improving the player experience on the platform. In this new moment in the market, we believe that the focus should be on product quality and player retention, always offering the best for them.

How is Segurobet adapting to the new regulations in the Brazilian market?
We are 100% adapted to the new requirements and ensuring that all features operate perfectly to provide security to the player.

There are still adjustments to be made, after all, we are less than 60 days away from a regulated market. This adaptation process is ongoing, but we have a very close relationship with SIGAP and often serve as a case study to demonstrate the effectiveness in delivering the required information.

How do you evaluate this start of regulated operations in Brazil? Has it been a challenging process?
Without a doubt, it is a challenge. We were one of the 14 bookmakers to obtain the definitive license in the first wave, meeting all the requirements before the stipulated deadline.

However, the inspection is still not acting effectively, which ends up harming the market by allowing some bookmakers to operate without federal licenses. This is a critical point that needs to be resolved to ensure the integrity of the sector.

 



The Brazilian market is extremely competitive and tends to become even more so. What are Segurobet's differentiators that make it stand out?
Segurobet was founded in 2022 with a strong focus on player relationships. Our strategy goes beyond traditional bonuses. We seek to offer other forms of benefits and, above all, educate our players.

The Brazilian market is still new and growing, so we believe it is essential that each operator assumes the responsibility of guiding players on safe practices and responsible gaming.

Speaking of sensitive topics, such as responsible gaming, advertising and player protection, how are you dealing with these issues?
January was a month of market retraction due to greater friction with players, but this requires the sector to become even more professional. For 2025, we believe that efficiency will be the operators' top priority.

The tax burden imposed is severe, and we know that paying taxes means that the market is generating revenue. However, we also need to demand compensation to ensure a fair and sustainable regulated environment.

What are the biggest opportunities for Segurobet in regulated Brazil?
The fact that we were born within the rules allowed us to adapt much more quickly compared to some operators that were in the market without regulation.

Our team is lean, but highly professional, as we always prioritize competence. This gives us the advantage of constantly innovating and offering differentiated solutions for players.

In your view, what is the future of the iGaming and sports betting market in Brazil?
I am optimistic! I always say that 2024 was a period of transition, and now, in 2025, we are starting a new game, resetting everything and having the chance to innovate.

This is extremely positive, as it takes us out of our comfort zone and forces us to actively contribute to the development of the sector. For those who believe that the market is already saturated, I can assure you that there are still many opportunities for those who want to stand out and help the segment grow.
