The lottery industry in Brazil is undergoing a period of transformation, with increased regulation to balance the sector's competitiveness with consumer protection.
In this context, Quattrini highlighted the importance of coexistence and collaboration between federal and state lotteries to combat illegal gambling and benefit the consumer.
He suggested that CAIXA should open its lottery network to strengthen state lotteries, since the resources generated are earmarked for social programs.
The executive stated that it makes no sense for CAIXA to compete with state lotteries, but that everyone should unite against the illegal and unregulated market, promoting a transparent and egalitarian ecosystem.
Commitment to responsible gaming
CMSL has achieved Level 2 certification from the World Lottery Association (WLA) in Responsible Gaming, based on the association’s seven core principles.
Quattrini said the goal now is tg advance to Level 3, which will involve implementing specific programs, including player education, advertising control, remote game monitoring, staff training and support for people with gambling problems.
Expansion and new game types
Quattrini also reported that CMSL is evaluating opportunities to expand to other states in Brazil, notably the state of São Paulo, where they are awaiting the award of the lottery.
He stressed that the introduction of new game types depends on the concessions made by each state, and CMSL will continue to explore new options to strengthen the regulated lottery sector in the country.
