Betano to become River Plate's new main sponsor in Argentina

Betano, part of Kaizen Gaming and with a strong presence in the Brazilian market, will replace the Spanish company Codere as the main sponsor of the Argentine club River Plate when the current contract ends next July 31. Although not yet officially announced, the agreement with Betano is expected to be worth US$6m per year until July 31, 2027, with an option to extend for one more season.

With the agreement with Codere as the main sponsor nearing its end, River Plate already has a replacement lined up — another international betting company. It is Betano, a Greek-based firm, which will begin displaying its logo on the front of the Argentine team's jersey.

The agreement, which is not yet signed but is expected to be officially announced soon, includes a two-year term until July 31, 2027, with an option to extend the sponsorship for one more season.

River Plate would receive US$6 million annually, a figure that could increase based on titles won. Previously, the agreement with Codere was worth US$3.5 million per year.

Although the deal with Codere runs until the end of July, there is a possibility that Betano could already be River Plate’s main sponsor during the FIFA’s Club World Cup, which ends on Sunday, July 13—bringing forward its debut on the jersey.

Betano, part of Kaizen Gaming International, has made a strong entry in recent years in the football scene. It is currently a sponsor of Aston Villa, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, Olympiacos, and Atlético Mineiro, among other teams. It also sponsors the Argentine Professional Football League, the Brasileirão, the Copa do Brasil, and the UEFA Europa League.
