“Today is one of those days that we will remember for a long time. We have just closed the largest sponsorship contract in the history of Brazilian football: a partnership between Superbet and São Paulo that could reach R$1 billion (US$ 171m) in the next six years!”, said Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Superbet on Instagram.
“More than numbers, this agreement shows how much we believe in the power of sport, in the passion of the fans and in the positive impact that football can generate on and off the field. This is just the beginning. Let's make history together.”
The contract is considered the “largest in the history of Brazilian football” and, according to Alex Fonseca himself, in an exclusive interview with GMB, the longest-lasting contract for a sports betting and online gaming company.
Although the amounts have not yet been officially revealed, the deal is expected to yield R$1 billion (US$171m) for Tricolor, including performance bonuses.
The contract with São Paulo was signed with São Paulo in 2024 and was, at the time, the largest master sponsorship in Brazilian football. Now, with the renewal until 2030, it is also the longest-lasting contract in the history of a football club with a sports betting and online gaming company.
In another exclusive interview with GMB when he took over as CEO, Alexandre Fonseca stated that Superbet's plans were to become the number 1 bookmaker in Brazil. The company has already obtained its federal license to operate in Brazil until the end of 2029 and, according to several surveys conducted by agencies involved in the so-called 'Bets' world, Superbet ranks second among those with the most active customers in the country.
Superbet Group is a technology and entertainment company founded in 2008 in Romania, whose mission is to provide entertainment in sports and gaming.
Present in 12 countries, Superbet has been operating in Brazil since 2023, and is the first to obtain a federal license to operate in a fully regularized manner.
Master sponsor of clubs such as São Paulo F.C. and Fluminense, it adopts Responsible Gaming practices and is a leader in compliance and best practices, being a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), a non-profit trade body that represents the interests of the largest licensed online betting companies and operators in the world in terms of integrity.
