Superbet moves forward with renewal with Fluminense until 2028

Superbet Brasil CEO, Alexandre Fonseca, stated that the company is in the final stages of negotiations to renew its contract with Fluminense until 2028. “We are discussing an extension with Fluminense until 2028. It should be announced in the next few days,” said the CEO. The statement was made during an interview with Poder360's podcast at BiS (Brazilian iGaming Summit) SiGMA Americas, in São Paulo.

The Rio de Janeiro club has a contract with the betting house until the end of 2026, worth R$42 million (US$7.05m) per season, and will have the contract extended until 2028, with an undisclosed increase in the amount. “When we seek sponsorship, it is our opportunity to connect deeply with the club's fans,” he said.

In recent days, São Paulo announced the renewal of the contract with its master sponsor and an increase in the amounts of the fees paid to the club per season.

The ‘Tricolor Paulista’ agreed to extend the sponsorship until 2030, which could yield up to R$1 billion (US$170m) – in addition to the master on the jersey, the betting house will also give its name to the club's training center. With the new agreement, São Paulo will receive R$78 million (US$13.15m) per year.

Because of this, Fluminense also moved to renew its contract with Superbet, with an eye on the club's appreciation, which will compete in the Club World Cup, and considers that the current contract is already outdated in relation to the market.

Fluminense signed a deal with Superbet in April 2024, shortly after ending its partnership with Betano. The ‘Tricolor's’ current contract with the bookmaker is worth R$52 (US$8.75m) million per season. With the renewal in the works, the trend is that Fluminense will receive a similar amount to what São Paulo will receive.

In 2024, Fluminense became one of the five largest sponsorships in Brazilian football. However, as the market continued to grow in Brazil, other companies began to pour more money into the clubs and Tricolor dropped out of the Top 5.
