The Bill PLS 186/14, which legalizes gambling, was not voted by the Senate floor yet, but there will be an attempt to vote on this week. Renan Calheiros, President of the House, rather give priority to the discussion of other matters like the PEC of the Expenditure Ceiling to ensure that the amendment be voted on next Tuesday (13). However, the process in the chamber of PL 442/91 moves faster and can be voted on earlier.
In the next sessions of the Senate the priorities will be guidelines of economic content and government interest. The most important are the conclusion of the vote on the 2017 year Budget Guidelines Law (LDO), which already has the approved basic text, but still awaits amendments and the Annual Budget Law, which is still in the Joint Budget Commission.
According to Estado de São Paulo, matters like securitization of debts, updating of the Bidding Law and the legalization of gambling are also in the Senate agenda.
On the other hand, in the Chamber of Deputies, the approval process of PL 442/91 is more accelerated and can be voted still in this year. The agreement with the Evangelical Parliamentary Front says to not vote the urgency of the issue before the General Committee, scheduled for Tuesday morning (13). After this, there will be no more objections to voting on the project.
