Deputy Nelson Marquezelli (PTB-SP)

"The promise is that Brazil will have gaming legalized this year"

In an interview with TV show “Brasil Caipira”, from TV Câmara, Deputy Nelson Marquezelli (PTB-SP) again defended the legalization of gaming in Brazil later this year as a way to increase revenue. In addition, the parliamentarian highlighted the advantages of taking the activity out of clandestinity.

During the interview with the "Brasil Caipira” program, MP Nelson Marquezelli (PTB-SP) spoke about the legalization of gaming in Brazil:

"My friends, it is a pleasure to be here with you again, and I am now asked about gaming, the approval of the activity in Brazil.

We have already approved it in the Commission, with only 3 votes against and 42 favorable. We are now awaiting opportunity to come to the House floor to approve it. I'm pretty sure this is going to happen and then we'll take it to the Senate, get the okay, and then go to the president to get it sanctioned.

The promise is that this year we will have the gaming activity regularized in Brazil. There are more than 512 thousand play points of local ´jogo do bicho’ that pay nothing. It will pay, it will contribute to the Brazilian society. There are enough casinos hidden in Brazil that will also be officialized and I am sure that the entrepreneurs of the international market will come to Brazil. Las Vegas has an interest in Brazil; Monaco also has an interest in our country, and several other places where gaming has been officialized for many, many years, has an interest in being in South America.

There are casinos in Ururguai, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, and just Brazil does not have them. But we will try to make it official, because it is more employment and more collection for those who go there to play.

The bingos will be made official, then retired senior citizens in your city can attend a bingo, spend a few hours with their friends having fun.

So come on! Let's approve! Because approving gaming we will have officialized what until the present moment in Brazil is being done without any contribution of taxes to the society.”

Deputy has been a strong ally of legalization

In addition to being the author of the request to create the Special Commission on the Regulatory Framework for Gaming in Brazil and had a strong performance during the term of the collegiate, Deputy Nelson Marquezelli continues to act in favor of legalizing the activity. Frequently, the parliamentarian receives from ministers comments saying that the option of legalizing this sector would be an alternative source of resources.
