The meeting, which was held in Guayaquil, was attended by Francisco Zambrano Campuzano, President of CEDHUS, the Small Business Administration (MYPES), as well as other senior government officials, to discuss the issue with foreign owners
Zambrano Campuzano, promoter of the meeting, said that with the exit of the casinos from Ecuador, more than 100,000 direct and indirect employees lost their jobs. He also said that with the regulated and controlled return of the gaming activity, Ecuador’ State revenues would rise and the industry would recover more than 100,000 jobs. From the legal point of view, with the exit of casinos and gambling halls, it has been violated the Constitution, as well as a number of local and international laws, he said.
The members of the gaming industry delivered a document at the meeting that reflected their willingness to return and reinvest in Ecuador. They also requested that delegates from the Ministry of Tourism, Labor,
