Rodrigo Maia meets deputies of Gaming Committee and IJL directors

The President of the Chamber of Deputies and current President of the Republic -while Michel Temer visits China- received deputies Nelson Marquezelli, Cesar Halum, the board of the Brazilian Legal Gaming Institute (IJL) and representatives of the gaming and lotteries sector. Maia said that he will bring the topic to the meeting of the College of Leaders, with also the possibility of including in the Plenary agenda the substitute of Guilherme Mussi to PL 442/91 approved by the Special Commission.

Representative Nelson Marquezelli, who was a member and author of the application that created the Special Commission on the Regulatory Framework for Gaming in Brazil, defended PL442 / 91 in the Plenary. Already Deputy Cesar Halum, in addition to being part of the collegiate, informed the president about the initiative to create the 'Parliamentary Front by the Regulatory Framework of Gaming of Brazil'.

The event was attended by IJL President Magnho José, Ricardo Namen (entrepreneur), Márcio Augusto (Agebi), Adair Ribeiro (ACIEG), Paulo Horn (LOTERJ) and Roberto 'Brasil' Fernandes (State Lotteries).

The president of the IJL, Jose Magnho, defended the legalization of gaming and handed over to President Rodrigo Maia a study of the entity with information about the general betting movement of the legal and illegal market of the country, the potential of collection in taxes and grants with the regulation of this sector , the result of the national consultation of the Paraná Research Institute commissioned by the Esplanada Column and the analysis of the percentages indicated by the survey. The report, conducted between August 15 and 19, recorded that the majority of the population supports the legalization of bingos and casinos.

At the request of Representative Nelson Marquezelli, President Rodrigo Maia informed that he will bring the topic to the meeting of the College of Leaders, with including the possibility of including in the Plenary agenda the substitute of Guilherme Mussi (PP-SS) to PL 442/91 approved by the Special Committee.

The Brazilian Legal Gaming Institute (IJL) aims to produce and stimulate studies and research on gaming, lotteries, prognostications, draws and entertainment competitions, as well as promoting legalization and creating a regulatory framework for these activities in collaboration with public competent authorities.
