According to the information released by the institution, during the coming days Coljuegos hopes to announce the authorization of new online gaming operators and, in this way, increase the resources for the health area of Colombians.
"We
want more operators to obtain authorization from Coljuegos to reach a strong
sector and in tune with the new technologies," said the president of the
entity, Juan B. Perez Hidalgo.
Coljuegos issued the regulation of online gambling and a protocol, focused on
fighting against illegality, to promote the blocking of sites that are not
authorized to perform these types of bets. According to this measure, in
Colombia those who meet the financial, technical and legal requirements
established by Coljuegos can operate online gaming activities.
Therefore, the president of Coljuegos added: "With this initiative we seek
greater resources for the health of Colombians, expanding the portfolio of
games through innovative tools and in line with the trend towards greater use
of new technologies in the world."
Pérez Hidalgo also pointed out that Colombia is the first Latin American country to regulate games operated by the Internet, which has attracted interest in investing in this sector.
