The timing is impeccable, too, as the casino based in the downtown district of Macau will be able to take full advantage of the October Golden Week holiday that is just around the corner. Included in the festivities is a celebration running from October 1st to 3rd commemorating the National Day of the People’s Republic of China, while on October 4th will be held the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is a harvest festival type public holiday.
Although the Royal Dragon Casino opening date is yet to be confirmed, at least an application to operate the casino under a gaming
licence held by SJM Holdings Ltd has been acknowledged by the local gaming regulator, and as the
bureau explained in an email sent last Friday:
"We have already received the application from SJM [Holdings] requesting to open a casino at the location you mentioned. The gaming tables that SJM [Holdings] planned to place in the casino will be existing ones that are moved from its other casino properties. The respective application is currently under processing and no official approval has been granted yet.”
According to the casino’s website, the Royal Dragon boasts a 4-star hotel located just a 10-minute walk away from the Macau Ferry Terminal, and 15-minutes by car from the Macau International Airport.
