Mustapha Hadj-Ahmed, ITL’s Group Sales Director, talks about the presence of the firm in Las Vegas and comments on the importance of the future Brazilian market: “ITL We’re closely following the process of gaming legalization in Brazil as this an issue which is of great interest to us.”

G2E is a very important date for the international industry but ITL is not exhibiting there? Can you tell us why the company took that decision?
Although we do not have a dedicated stand this year, our Sales Directors will be visiting and we look forward to some fruitful planned meetings, making new contacts and networking at the event. The US market is very important to us and we look forward to the show.

ITL is celebrating this its 25th anniversary this year. How is the company living this milestone?
It is an exciting time at Innovative Technology as we celebrate 25 years in the cash handling industry this year. We also received the 4th Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: Innovation 2017 earlier in the year and enjoyed celebrating both these significant accolades with ITL staff from all around the world with a day of fun activities. As a company, we are experiencing a significant, sustained period of growth, which has allowed us to increase our staff and office locations and expand our product range; cementing our position as a market leader in our field.

What is your balance of these months of 2017 and how do you plan the last part of the year after the Las Vegas exhibition? What plans does ITL have in the short and medium term?
2017 is going accordingly to plan and we expect the rest of the year to perform as well as the first part. Our short and medium terms plans are to expand the business, especially in the regions where we have opened new offices in the past few years, and where we see potential growth. 2018 will also be about the products, cementing our position as one of the market leaders in the cash handling industry.

Being a company with a global presence, have you been following the process of gaming legalization in Brazil? Is it a market potentially interested to ITL?
ITL are continually watching the market and are closely following the process of gaming legalization in Brazil as this an issue which is of great interest to us. We intend to use our established facility in Brazil to make note and coin validator products that are relevant to, and which are demanded by the local market. We have the ability and the manufacturing capabilities to supply products to meet this demand and look forward to the forthcoming changes.

Does ITL have any plans thinking on the upcoming Brazilian regulated market? Which ITL's products do you think could be attractive to that market?
ITL have plans in place for the upcoming regulated Brazilian market. We have the capability to react to and increase our range of innovative validation products locally to suit the market demand. We are already supplying ITL products to all South American Market from our facility in Brazil and we are ready to respond quickly and adapt our structure to the changing needs of the industry.

Finally, how do you evaluate the company's presence in Latin America and how important is the region for ITL?
ITL are a global company so we already have an established presence in all the relevant markets. Latin America is one of these established areas, and is a region that provides important business to us. ITL are very familiar with the market and we are currently working with this region to expand our customer base and develop and innovate new products that suit the market.
