Hosted by GLI’s world-renowned GLI University and
produced by GLI Director, Latin America and Caribbean Government Relations and
Business Development, Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes, and her team of experts, the
Regulators Roundtable promises to offer attendees insights into a wide range of
relevant gaming and lottery topics.
Courtesy of the Gaming Control Board of Panama, the conference program includes on-site demonstrations at the Majestic Casino at Multicentro on the second day of the conference. There will be three different types of demonstrations: money laundering prevention methods; field inspection verification procedures for gaming devices; and field inspection verification procedures for monitoring and control systems and communication testing.
"The
Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable has reached a very important
milestone this year – its 10th year – and we are so grateful to all of the
regulators and government lotteries that have supported us in our efforts to produce
a well-rounded conference,” commented Sierra-Hughes.
"The Regulators Roundtable provides attendees a unique opportunity to not only share knowledge with their peers, but also network with each other and discuss their own experiences in the gaming industry. We have several topics on the agenda designed to open dialog on policy and technical complexities of gaming and lottery and to promote collaboration among the authorities. We are very appreciative of the Gaming Control Board of Panama and the Panama National Lottery for being our hosts this year,” concluded Sierra-Hughes.”
The 2016 Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable, held in Curacao, hosted almost 90 representatives from government lotteries and gaming and lottery regulators from more than 36 entities and two associations. Attendees represented 22 countries from across the region including: Argentina; Aruba; Belize; Bolivia; Brazil; Chile; Colombia; Curacao; El Salvador; Guyana; Honduras; Jamaica; Mexico; Panama; Paraguay; Peru; Puerto Rico; Saint Maarten; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; Uruguay; and the Virgin Islands.
