Galaxy reveals its vision for future Japan IR

Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) unveiled their vision for their proposed integrated resort in Japan this week during the Japan Gaming Congress in Tokio. The company envisions the development of an IR that will have a transformative impact on the Japanese economy and the city and community where it will be located.

The company said it plans to combine the best of Europe, Asia and Japan, which will be seen in the brands, events, gastronomic and hospitality experiences, management teams, global marketing and financial strengths of all parties involved.

Appealing to both Japanese and international guests, GEG and their partner, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, said they envision the development of an IR that will have a transformative impact on the Japanese economy and the city and community it will be located.

“For over 150 years, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer have provided World Class IR experiences to visitors from around the world including Japan, helping to transform the Principality of Monaco into one of the most successful destinations in the world.  And GEG have an unrivalled track record in Asia building and operating iconic properties. Together, we believe that an IR in Japan must be both World Class and Japan inspired in order to be truly successful and to support the Government’s stated tourism objectives to attract 60 million tourists a year by 2030”, said Jean-Luc Biamonti, CEO and chairman of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.

Commenting on the partnership, Michael Mecca, member of the board and Senior Advisor of GEG and board member of S.B.M said; “Our partnership promises something truly unique for Japan. Together, we possess the financial capability, integrity and strength of vision to bring Integrated Resorts to Japan successfully, using them as a powerful catalyst for growth, not only economically, but socially and culturally as we have done in the other cities where we operate.”

Francis Lui, vice chairman of GEG, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of these new members to our Japan team.  They add significant value to our existing team and I am confident that under the leadership of Ted we will successfully drive the execution of our World Class Japan Inspired ambitions.”
