“We see Brazil as the country with the greatest potential in Latin America”

(Exclusive GMB) - Vera Motto, executive Assistant to CEO of Espresso Games, explains in this interview with GMB about the international experience of the company, its approach to the Latin American market and the recent deal signed with Italtronic to better penetrate the whole region. And thinking on Brazil, he states that the company “looks forward to open offices in that wonderful country!”

GMB - Let’s begin introducing Espresso Games to the Brazilian audience...
Vera Motto - Espresso Games is a prestigious brand of production of online games. A well-known brand in Europe and Asia where it is considered a flagship of the industry for its constant ability to develop high quality products. We see that you have presence with offices in different parts of the world, even in Latin America. Is it a growing market seen from Europe?
Yes, we have representative offices in all the markets where we operate. Today, we look at Latin America as the most interesting emerging area even if it is very uneven in the regulations.

How much is Latin America in your business? Which countries stand out the most?
Our approach to the LATAM market has just begun, so we are in the absence of a historian that could arouse interest. However, our analysts point out that Colombia today, by virtue of the most recent regulation of online gaming, is undoubtedly the best opportunity in Latin America for industry operators. Obviously we are also interested in all the other markets that are in the process of structured regulation.

In FADJA you have presented your agreement with Italtronic to improve your presence in Spain and Latin America ... what does this alliance consist of?
From some of our investigations we have identified Italtronic as the company with the highest professional skills for the development of strategies for the best penetration in the Latin American market. During the professional activities, Italtronic fell in love with our product to the point that we transformed the initial consulting relationship into a partnership in which Italtronic will directly represent the brand Espresso Games in these important markets.

The growth of online gaming seems to overshadow that of physical casinos ... what are the assessments and analysis of this moment in the industry all over the world?
Rather than obscuring we could speak of overlapping activities that are in fact parallel. To think that the online gaming market can cannibalize the terrestrial one in our opinion is wrong because, even if the players can sometimes coincide, the two activities remain and will always remain different. I would rather say that land-based casinos, where regulations allow it, should start organizing themselves with online activities to ensure that the customer continues to remain faithful even after leaving their rooms.

Which of your products has grown the most? What other news can you show in 2018?
Without a doubt our slot races are the most competitive on the market. Even if the word competitive is not exact because the model is unique and extraordinary. Today we are working on creating other slot models that do not find similar evidence in the competition.

Is Brazil a market that you also consider? Are you closely following the process of legalization in the country? Is it correct to think that if gaming is opened, could you have an office here?
Absolutely! We see Brazil as the country with the greatest potential in Latin America if only the legislator followed the path taken by Colombia and decided once and for all to regularize online gaming at a federal level with a simple and effective law which will be able to exclude misunderstandings and interpretations. We look forward to open offices in this wonderful country!
