The initiative, supported by the Ministry of Finance and the Royal Spanish Football Federation, was enacted at the El Campín stadium and was born from recognizing the relationship between sporting events and the gaming industry, and particularly with the online betting sector.
The event also saw the launch of the first international conference on the integrity and transparency of sports betting in Colombia: the Betting Sports Marketing Conference. It is a meeting place for experts, operators and fans of sports betting, where will be exposed success stories in Europe against match-fixing, the current situation in Latin America and Colombia, leadership sessions, market profiles and a whole panorama of the commercial sector.
The Conference event will be held at the El Campin Stadium today and tomorrow with the presence of important companies such as Betconstruct, GLI, Netinplay, Meridian, Sportradar, Wplay, Espresso Games, Play n'Go, Codere, Playtech, and Betgenius, among others.
Dimayor, on the other hand, and Coljuegos, with the operators, agreed to ratify the commitment to work for the integrity of sports and sports betting in Colombia in terms of football, and if possible, promote spaces in the media that allow reliability in sports events to increase in the population.
In the promulgation of this agreement were present the presidents of Coljuegos, Juan B Pérez, and of Dimayor, Jorge Perdomo; the director of Security and Integrity of the Spanish Football Federation, Alfredo Lorenzo; the president of Asojuegos, Juan Andrés Carreño; authorized representatives and operators to operate online sports betting in Colombia and leading international multinationals that are coming to the Colombian market.
In its statement, Dimayor announced several commitments:
• Promote actions that identify and counteract behaviors that may affect the integrity of all the matches and competitions organized by Dimayor by sports betting, which could generate arrangements or fixes for any of its competitions.
• Carry out training and awareness campaigns for all the players in the industry, shareholders, leaders, players, managers, among others, to promote fair play and integrity in the Colombian professional football.
• Ratify the commitment to work for the overall integrity of the sport with all other sports federations in the country and sports betting in Colombia and promote spaces in the media that allow for increasing the reliability of organized sports events in the population by Dimayor.
• Guarantee by all possible means the noninterference in the result of the sporting events in the major division of the Colombian professional football league on which bets are placed, and make all the technical and human efforts to guarantee the transparency in the matches of the Colombian professional football.
