Chilean casino revenues dip slightly in March

Gross Gaming Revenues in Chile including revenue generated by the seven municipal casinos stood at US$69,454,059 in March. This is a decrease of 0.9% compared to the same month last year while the cumulative gross gaming growth rate stood at -1.1% over the last twelve months.

According to the Chilean Gaming Control Board (SJC), Gross Gaming Revenue for the casinos, which already come under the supervision of the SJC, made up 70.2% of the total. Meanwhile, GGR for the seven municipal casinos made up 29.8%.

The amount gambled in March via the 11,275 gaming machines that were in operation in the 18 non-municipal casinos amounted to US$620,000. The prizes paid to players reached US$582,000 which made up 93.7% of the total amount wagered.

Regarding visitor spending, during the month of March for the casinos which already come under the supervision of the SJC average expenditure stood at US$101.8 per visit, meaning a real variation of 2.3% when compared to March 2017, and a real cumulative growth when it came to expenditure of plus 1.3% over the last 12 months.

Meanwhile, total visitors to the municipal casinos (not including the casino in Puerto Varas, which does not record this information) stood at 240,596 for the month of March.

According to the latest report released by the Chilean Gaming control Board (SJC), in terms of gross gaming revenue income generated by the casinos, the Sun Monticello came in first place with 17.1%. Casino Viña del Mar came in second place with 12.0% and Casino Rinconada came in third place with 10.5%.

The 18 non-municipal gambling casinos generated US$18,2m in tax revenue in March 2018.
