Following a meeting on June 12th with Alfonso Rueda, vice president of Galicia’s regional government, González stated that the final design for the project – a joint venture between Luckia Group and Cirsa – will be ready shortly.
“Regulated gaming will be a revenue generator for the administration, and will create jobs and energise the city,” Rueda stated. “If everything goes as planned, in less than a year the casino will be operational,” he added.
The €5.5 million Casino de Vigo will technically be a satellite venue, operating under the licence for the companies’ existing property, Casino La Toja, in O Grove.
Last June 6th, Luckia and Cirsa signed a 25-year rental agreement with the owners of A Laxe Shopping Centre to occupy a 1,700sqm premises on the first floor of the property.
Designed by architect Willy Gómez, the new venue will include a 500sqm gaming floor featuring 80 slot machines and 12 gaming tables, along with a bar and restaurant and event space. The property will create 105 direct jobs.
