Days before the begining of the 2018 World Cup, the millionaire business can only be undertaken by Apostala, Daruma Sam's trademark.
Óscar Portillo, president of the National Gaming Commission (Conajzar), indicated that the other companies (there are nine firms in total) have provisional permits and they expire today (Friday), so they should stop operating.
Portillo mentioned that Daruma Sam has the obligation to place 200 stores throughout the national territory and pay a monthly fee of 21% on gross income minus prizes.
According to official Conajzar information of September 2017, sports betting moves on a monthly basis US$12.8 million (gross billing). Of this total, US$9.75 million are paid in prizes, remaining a profit of USD 3.1 million.
However, Portillo indicated that several of the other companies are already talking with Daruma Sam to reach an agreement and be able to work together.
Conajzar intends to raise US$650,000n a month with the canon readjusted. To date, the fee is 4%.
