IGT underlines corporate social responsibility and sustainability values

IGT has announced the publication of its 11th annual Sustainability Report, demonstrating its drive to create value globally, increase its socially responsible corporate citizenship, and report on its activities transparently. “It represents our ongoing pledge to sustainably grow our industry and the communities we serve,” commented Marco Sala, IGT CEO.

This year’s report features 2017 data showing IGT’s achievements in generating value for each of its stakeholder groups, including employees, customers, communities, and suppliers. Among the key issues highlighted in the report is ‘Fostering Responsible Gaming’ which IGT described as vital to the sustainability of the industry and the safety of players.

“To support safe and responsible gaming environments, IGT adopts industry best practices and applies international standards,” said the report.

The company’s responsible gaming goals include promoting protective tools to prevent problem gambling; supporting responsible gaming organisations that address problem gambling; and preventing underage gambling.

The report also describes how IGT’s products, systems, and portals include player protection and security tools to safeguard player interests and address regulators’ concerns.

“This year’s Sustainability Report represents our ongoing pledge to sustainably grow our industry and the communities we serve,” said Marco Sala, IGT CEO.

“In addition to enhancing our leading position in the market as a global innovator in the gaming business, IGT continues to strengthen its corporate citizenship,” Sala added.

The report applies the latest Sustainability Reporting Standards issued by Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which are the most widespread international standards used by organisations to report their sustainability impact and performance.
