"With the new betting channel, collection should grow by US$ 130 million per year"

The expectation is that the annual collection of the lotteries in Brazil gain momentum with the new Online Lottery, thus generating more benefits for the population through social transfers. 'In the last five years, CAIXA has transferred more than US$ 8 billion to the Government's social programs. With the new betting channel, revenues must grow at least 130 million dollars per year,' said Nelson de Souza, president of CAIXA.

The world has been transformed with the digital revolution and the CAIXA Lotteries are not left out. Now it is possible to bet in different modalities of lottery games in a new channel: the digital one. The new portal Loterias Online was launched at a press conference in São Paulo, with the presence of Nelson de Souza, president of CAIXA, Valter Nunes, vice president of Government Funds and Lotteries, and Gilson Braga, national superintendent of Lotteries, among others representatives of CAIXA.

The launch of the portal (loteriasonline.caixa.gov.br) is another step in the bank's innovation cycle in recent years. "This successful project aligns the credibility of CAIXA, the institution's confidence in this new moment of digital transformation," said the president of CAIXA.

"The innovation generates a higher collection and a better service to our clients, besides, of course, to include those who do not attend the lottery stores, as is the case of women. They now represent only 15% of the total bettors, while in the electronic way the female participation is over 50%," said Souza.

The expectation is that the annual collection of the CAIXA Lotteries will gain momentum with the Online Lottery, thus generating more benefits for the population through social transfers. "In the last five years, CAIXA has transferred more than US$ 8 billion to the Government's social programs. With the new betting channel, revenues must grow at least 130 million dollars per year, and logically more resources will be passed on to Government programs and reverted to the areas of security, education, sports, culture and security," emphasized Nelson de Souza.

Only in the first half of 2018, more than US$ 811 million were allocated to social transfers. In 2017, of the total amount collected by the Federal Lotteries, US$ 1.70 billion had this destination.

CAIXA's forecast is that the collection of the Lotteries has an increase of approximately 3% in the first year of new portal Online Lotteries. And the lotteries sellers will also participate in this growth. "Our correspondents, which are the lottery stores, also participate in innovation. We were careful to set a percentage of the collection with the online bets to pass to the lottery," explained the president.

Ease and news on the way

According to Valter Nunes, vice president of Government Funds and Lotteries, the bettor will find a site with good navigation and some news. "We were concerned to launch a portal that was easy to navigate. It is an intuitive and, mainly, responsive site, that is, it will fit even if it is accessed in other platforms, like a cell phone," Nunes said.

New players can also be unconcerned about security over online gaming. "The bettor can rest assured about safety. All the drive will be captured by the CAIXA system and there is a whole level of security to avoid fraud. All this system has been following the CAIXA Lotteries since its inception and we have never had frauds," said the vice president.

Valter Nunes also added that the launch of the portal is not the only novelty of the year for the CAIXA Lotteries. "It will soon be launching an app (for smartphones and tablets) to place bets through it, and a new game mode will be developed exclusively for the website." According to the vice president, the app, which is in the final stages of testing, should be launched in October, and the new lottery mode, until December.

Advertising campaign

To attract young audiences, CAIXA has launched the #podeapostar advertising campaign. With humorous language, the pieces rescue famous memes of the internet to present the Online Lotteries site. The campaign will also have a strong presence in social networks and will count on the participation of digital influencers, partner brands and sponsored teams.
