Mercado Pago does not participate in the betting process, only in the payment transaction. The Online Lottery portal has our checkout solution, ensuring speed and security.
The receipt of the prize follows the rules and regulations of Caixa Econômica Federal, also applied to lottery houses. In the case of the portal, the winner also has the option to receive the bet prize directly in the Mercado Pago account, for amounts up to R $ 1,903.98 (US$ 467).

Does the company have exclusivity in this process or can other ways of payment be implemented by Caixa in case they reach agreements with other companies that compete with MP?
Mercado Pago is the only company to process payments on the portal at the moment.
How much betting has been recorded since the implementation of the system and what are the expected numbers for the future? Can Caixa’s Online Lottery become a key point within Mercado Pago income?
The betting and results data are information from Caixa Econômica Federal, to which we do not have access. For Mercado Pago, it is a partnership of great importance, with a great potential volume of transactions carried out.
Are there plans for new work in conjunction with Caixa in the future?
We are always open and seeking new possibilities with several companies, offering financial solutions to simplify people's lives and transform their relationship with money.
As you know, Brazil is in a process for a future legalization of the gaming market, in which sports betting and online casinos require reliable payment processes. Could Mercado Pago be an option for these websites in the future? Do you already offer this service in any country?
The regulation of gaming is still in process in Brazil, so we will not comment on the topic. What we can affirm is that Mercado Pago is able to offer agile and secure payment services for online transactions.
