Representatives of Atlético-PR, Corinthians, Coritiba, Cruzeiro and Flamengo will have lunch today (Tuesday 7) with federal deputy Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ), president of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, to discuss projects to regulate sports betting and to try political support for approval of the MP of the Reformulation of Football still in 2018. President Michel Temer (PMDB) is expected, but his presence has not been confirmed to the clubs.

There are a number of important issues on the MP's agenda, including the transformation of clubs into publicly traded companies, so that investors can buy stocks like in England, with clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City.

Issues such as arena rights, negotiation of international quotas and tax immunity will also be on the table.

In Brazil, sports betting websites have experienced strong growth. According to the recent Alexa site survey, Bet 365 website is the 36th most visited by Brazilians, being ahead of major local sites such as Banco de Brasil (38th) and Itaú (44th) and other global ones, such as Linkedin (47th) or Bing (43rd).

In addition, sports betting sites have also gained relevance in Brazilian football as sponsors of major competitions. The most recent examples are Bodog, which stamps its brand on the Brazil Cup and, in the first half, Bet 90 had its logo displayed during the Paulista Championship matches, one of the most important state championship in the country.
